M., Little Gables, Wallington, Surrey. Aug. 7, 1934, No. 22904. [Class 38 (v)] A light current electric switch comprises a contact spring 1 fixed at 3 to an insulating support 2 and held in a slightly strained position by a stop 5. A second contact spring 7 is mounted on the support 2 at a substantial angle to the spring 1 and carries a contact point 10 adapted for engagement with a flat contact 6 on the spring 1. An operating cam 11 of form shown is rotatable on a spindle 15. Initial rotation of the cam causes the contact point 10 to engage the left-hand side of contact 6 and further movement of the cam causes the contact point 10 to slide to the right until the nose 17 of the cam has passed the dead-centre position. The contact point 10 then moves back a short way to the final contacting position in which the flat side 16 of the cam rests on the blade 7. In this way a clean contact surface is preserved.
