Abstract
411,641. Tumbler switches. WATSON, A., Veritas Efesca Works, Edward Street, Parade, Birmingham. April 8, 1933, No. 10519. [Class 38 (v).] A tumbler switch comprises a dolly g pivoted at i to depending ears of the bridge h and a contact rocker e pivoted at j to the dolly g. A spring plunger is pivoted at m to the upper end of the contact rocker and has a sliding pivot n<2> in the upper part of the dolly. On moving the dolly, the lower end o<3> of the spring plunger levers against an ear h<4> of the bridge to move the rocker positively until the plunger passes the dead-centre and the rocker moves rapidly to break the circuit. In the two-way switch shown the fixed contacts d<2> are arranged to be bridged by the forked ends of the rocker e which also carries an insulating plate f which in the other position enters between normally closed spring contacts c<2>.
