Abstract

434,453. Automatic circuit-breakers. BRAY & CO., Ltd., G., and BRAY, G., Bagby Works, Leeds. Aug. 18, 1934, No. 23873. [Class 38 (v)] An automatic circuitbreaker comprises a pair of spaced spring contacts 3 adapted to be bridged by a contact 12 passing through an insulating block 11 on an operating member 7 slidably mounted in a bushing 9 and biassed to the right by a spring 15. The switch is held in the circuit closing position by a bimetallic latch 13 mounted on the member 7 and engaging a shoulder on the bushing 9. On overheating the latch 13 bends upwards and the member 7 moves to the right to break the circuit. In a modification, the latch 13 is mounted on the base 2 and engages a depending lug on the slide 7.
