Abstract

511,625. Thermal switches; snap - action switches. BURGESS PRODUCTS CO., Ltd., and POOLEY, C. A. April 22, 1938, No. 12184. [Class 38 (v)] A snap-action thermal switch comprises a blade spring 1 anchored at 3 and carrying at its free end a contact 2 movable between fixed contacts 15, 16 by a bimetallic strip 5 stiffened by a rib 7. A snap-action is provided by a leaf spring 10 in compression between an adjustable bearing 12 and a lug 8 on spring 1 in the manner described in Specifications 419,917 and 503,504. In a modification, the strip 5 is dispensed with and the blade 1 is made bimetallic. In either case the switch may be independently operated by a manually operated plunger.
