Abstract

440,045. Electroplating. JOSEPH, Ltd., N. C., and JOSEPH, N. C., Birmingham Road, Stratford-on-Avon. July 25, 1934, No. 21720. [Class 41] Aluminium after suitable preliminary treatment is plated first with a film of brass then with nickel and copper and finally with silver. The preliminary treatment may consist of cleaning in a mild alkaline solution followed by dipping in nitro-sulphuric acid. The article may be heated to 204‹ C. for 15 minutes after the nickel coating is applied. The copper surface may be polished before silver-plating. A copper sulphate bath may be used for copperplating and any usual bath for the other metals.
