Abstract
Metal alloys containing chromium, particularly stainless steels, are prepared for electroplating by coating with a metal by fusion deposition. The metal applied by fusion deposition may be tin, zinc, cadmium, lead, or alloys of these metals, and may be similar in composition to hard or soft solder, and the coating may be brushed while still liquid to reduce its thickness. The electroplated coating may be of copper, nickel, silver, &c.
