438,326. Aerials. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GOLEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. April 23, 1935, No. 12220. Convention date, May 9, 1934. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (v)] A loop aerial, more particularly for a radio beacon transmitter, has a length which is great relative to its height the latter being small relative to the operating wavelength, and the conductor is interrupted at one or more symmetrically situated points by impedances such that radiation by the horizontal parts is substantially eliminated. In one embodiment the upper horizontal conductor is interrupted at the centre by a capacity the impedance Z of which is given by the formula Z = 2 j Ro tan. #l/# where Ro is the wave resistance of the aerial l is half the horizontal length and # the wavelength.
