Abstract
451,201. Aerials. LORENZ AKT.-GES., C., 1, Lorenzweg, Tempelhof, Berlin. Jan. 3, 1936, Nos. 303 and 304. Convention dates, Jan. 12, 1935 and June 12, 1935. [Class 40 (v)] A single-mast aerial, approximately 0À4 of a wavelength in height, is energized at A, and radiates as a dipole with its centre of oscillation roughly a quarter - wavelength above ground. This minimizes the undesirable space-wave component. In order to regulate the radiation-field, metallic capacity elements C are inserted at the ends of the supporting ropes 2, 4, and are bridged across at 5 and 6. Fine tuning may be effected by connecting the wires 5, 6 through inductances 7, 8 to the aerial. Or, as shown in Fig. 3, the aerial may be divided at 13, and tuned by a bridging inductance 14. The joints of the aerial may be bridged by conductors; or continuous wires may be stretched over the longitudinal edges of the mast from top to bottom. Specification 368,979 is referred to.
