[Class 40 (v)] An arrangement for varying the capacity to earth of the upper portion of an aerial of the pylon type comprises a concentrated capacity formed by one or more extensible metal structures at or near its summit. In one embodiment, shown in plan in Fig. 2, three flat lattice metal structures A, B, C, are hinged at XY, ZV, TU respectively to a platform P at the top of the mast aerial and may be raised or lowered by cables d passing over pulleys p to a winch. The structures A, B, C, may be prolonged by extensible rods a, b, c. In a second embodiment girder-like movable structures are controlled by turn buckles.
