Abstract

560,627. Erecting posts. CONSTRUCTORS, Ltd., SCRIVENER, W. C., and BREWER, A. G. June 22, 1942, No. 16512/43. Divided out of 560,841 [Group X]. [Class 78 (ii)] A post comprising three flexibly connected elements 4, 5, 6 is laid out on the ground with the lower end of element 6 pivoted to an anchored base-plate 21. Four guy anchorages 30-33 are fixed in the ground and the side and rear guys 4a, 5a, 6a are connected to the anchorages 30, 31 and 33. The forward guys are connected to the upper end of a derrick 36 which is pivoted to plate 21 and whose length is equal to the distance from the base-plate 21 to the anchorage 32. The derrick 36 is then hauled down to anchorage 32 by gear 39, 40 to bring the mast into a vertical position under control of the guys. The forward guys are then made fast to anchorage 32 and derrick 36 is removed.
