Abstract

1401654 Ground anchor E GUBLER 26 July 1972 34881/72 Heading E1B A ground anchor comprises an upright elongate structural element 2, e.g. a pillar or mast, extending from the ground, at least one anchoring member 1 in the form of a plate having upright faces parallel with the element 2 and engaging the ground, and securing means 3 connecting the element 2 directly to the ground-engaging faces of the plate(s) 1. The securing means 3 may comprise bolts, clamps, brackets or ropes. The plate(s) 1 may be of concrete, with holes therein for the securing means being lined with metal. Two or more plates 1 may be disposed one above another and connected by tongues and grooves, or by means inserted in bores 11, or merely by being secured to the element 2. The plate(s) 1 is/are completely embedded in the ground.
