Abstract

1474787 Retaining wall units G LUCA and A LUCA 29 June 1974 28978/74 Heading E1B A slab or block for forming a wall comprises two plates 11, 12 preferably of concrete, interconnected at right angles so that the weight of retained soil on the plate 12 produces a counteracting couple to that produced by the pressure of the soil on the vertical plate 11. The slab is provided with embedded tubular sockets 27 at its ends in both plates so that bolts may be inserted in the sockets to join adjacent slabs. The surface of the slab may contain embedded bricks or stones.
