Abstract
412,966. Aerials ; directive signalling. LORENZ AKT.-GES., C., 1, Lorenzweg, Tempelhof, Berlin. Jan. 6, 1933, Nos. 497 and 498. Convention dates, Feb. 8, 1932 and Feb. 22, 1932. [Class 40 (v).] A reflector for directional wireless is made of a combined cloth and metal fabric R which is foldable for portability, or the shape of which can be modified to suit local conditions. As shown in Fig. 1, the reflector R is mounted on vertical supports A with lateral stay-rods B of adjustable length. In Fig. 2 the reflector is in the shape of an umbrella, two or more of the supporting ribs being utilized to form one or more dipole aerials E, which may be at rightangles to each other. The high-frequency amplifier or oscillator may be housed in a box G slidably mounted on the shaft S, which may also be used as a dipole aerial. As shown in Fig. 4, the reflector consists of a cloth fabric M between two metallic coats N ; whilst in Fig. 5, two layers of cloth M enclose a sheet P of metal gauze.
