Abstract
387,698. Aerials. LASSMAN, H., 429, Backing Road, London, HUTSON, F. A., 23, Nelson Road, South Chingford, Essex, and NEW LONDON ELECTRON WORKS, Ltd., Boleyn Road, East Ham, London. Aug. 6, 1931, No. 22331. [Class 40 (v).] An aerial consists of a hollow sphere or skeleton of sheet metal supported on a central spindle. As shown in Fig. 3, the sphere 10 is made in two halves, and the lead-in wire 15 is wound by means of a knob 23 around a central tube 21 when not in use. Alternatively a skeleton aerial may be formed from a continuous perforated metal strip 110, Fig. 4, which is threaded at the top and bottom through a reduced portion of the central spindle 111 and gripped in position by washers 113. The strips are collapsed into the same plane, when out of use as shown in Fig. 5. The two ends of the strip are connected to terminals 117 to form a closed loop, or one end only may be so connected, the device then forming an open aerial. The skeleton framework may be enclosed in an ornamental covering 118 of silk. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 223,706, 258,764, and 315,532, [all in Class 40 (v), Wireless signalling &c.].
