Abstract
535,055. Wireless signalling. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., JULIAN, T. A., and SHAW, H. J. July 24, 1939, No. 21477. [Class 40 (v)] A short-wave aerial 1, particularly for television, is surrounded at the lower end by a sleeve or conduit 3 which co-operates with the prolongation 2 of the aerial to form a condenser. This condenser 2, Fig. 2, is shunted by an inductance 9, which is mounted inside a tube 5 fitted on the end of the supporting mast, the parallel circuit so formed being tuned to the working wavelength. A tapping is taken across the points 12, 13 to match the impedance of the aerial to the feedline.
