[Class 35] [See also Groups XXXVII and XXXVI] A flame-proof and explosion-proof casing for dynamo-electric machines is constructed so that the force of the explosion is balanced and does not tend to blow off the cover. The Figure shows the invention applied to a slip ring enclosure for an induction motor. The end discs b, c are joined by a tubular web a open at the sides, and the tubular cover g open at both ends is slipped over the discs b, c and fits against flameproof flanges e, f.
