382,303. Dynamo-electric machines. EVANS, W. E., 27, Chancery Lane, London. - (Allgemeine Elektricitats-Ges. ; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin.) July 22, 1931, No. 20992. [Class 35.] Frames; cores.-A casing frame for a dynamoelectric machine consists of longitudinal bars a, retaining rings f, and if necessary a protecting cover m, the bars being recessed at b in order to receive and clamp together the stator laminae c. The laminµ are held between pressure plate d which are not secured to the bars. The bars a extend over the end coils r for a sufficient distance to ensure that the spacing of the feet secured to the rings f will correspond to the spacing in the case of machines with cast frames. Cover-plates e are centred in and secured to the rings f. The external diameter of the rings is greater than the overall distance between any two oppositely disposed bars so that air can flow circumferentially as well as axially. Holes o may be provided in the bars to increase the circumferential flow. The rings f which may be of L, T, or other cross section, may have holes to allow egress of air in the axial direction. In the case of a motor which is to be secured with an end face against a wall &c., one of the retaining rings is constructed in the form of a flange of large diameter.
