Abstract

436,537. Ophthalmoscopes. COULDEN, A. P., 146, Clerkenwell Road, and BINSTEAD, H. C., 16, Wigmore Street, both in London. April 12, 1934, No. 11112. [Class 97 (i)] The reflector of an ophthalmoscope comprises a plate having a transparent part and a reflecting part, the latter being to one side of and terminating near the axis of observation. As shown a glass plate 16 is mounted on an angular block 14 provided with an observation aperture 15. The reflecting surface is formed by silvering the plate 16 up to a line 18 passing through the axis of the observation aperture, the silvered surface being then blackened out except for a small semicircular portion 19. A light beam 20 is projected on to the portion 19 from a lamp, the position of which is adjustable relatively to the projecting lenses.
