Abstract

436,506. Hatches. BROUGHTON, W., 164, Southcoates Lane, and LEE, C. F., 50, Lynton Avenue, Chanterlands Avenue, both in Hull. April 29, 1935, No. 12723. [Class 113 (i)] In hatches in which the ends of the hatch cover sections are slid and held in position between channel members 12, arranged at either end of the hatch, the end upper portion of the channel being cut away to facilitate the insertion of the cover sections, the ends of the channel member are bent downwards and the end locking hatch section which is pressed downward to engage with this incline is bevelled at each end to fit the hatch coaming 15 and the abutting hatch section. The section is retained by engaging beneath the lip 17 constituted by the end of the upper flange of the channel.
