Abstract

467,303. Hawse-pipes. TAYLOR, G. I. Inly 10, 1936, No. 19208. [Class 113 (i)] A hawse-pipe 1 designed for use with anchors as described in Specification 415,176 has its interior contour shaped to that of the rear of the fluke 2 of the anchor in question. The edge of the hawse-pipe is provided with a raised rubbing and tripping edge 5 with which the ridge of the fluke engages as the anchor is pulled up thus causing the fluke to turn on its shank to position the fluke for nesting in the hawse pipe.
