Abstract

435,891. Folding cardboard boxes. QUAEGHEBEUR, C. E., 50, Rue Jenner, Paris. Oct. 19, 1934, Nos. 29956 and 29957. Convention dates, Oct. 19, 1933 and Aug. 14, 1934. [Class 18] A cardboard box of rectangular section adapted to be transported in the folded condition is made from a blank shaped as shown in Fig. 1, a flap 5 being secured by adhesive or by hooking &c. to a side wall 1 to form a tube, diagonally creased end flaps 2, 2<a>, 4, 4a, being first folded in at the ends, after which flaps 1<a>, 3a are folded in, the ends of flaps 1<a> being engaged in the trapezoidal opening defined by the flaps 3<a>, 2<m>. Flap 3a is also held by a sealing strip 7, and oblique beaks 2<b>, 4<b> are provided to form additional baffles at the ends. A pouring opening is formed in a flap 4<a> and is covered by a strip 9 of fabric or strong paper, which can be torn away so that by flexing the top the opening can be exposed and the contents poured out.
