Convention date, Dec. 21, 1933. [Class 7 (ii)] [See also Groups XIII and XXVI] In an internal-combustion engine piston, the transmission of heat between two parts e, f is facilitated by filling a space a with a compressed metallic powder, e.g. powdered aluminium. The space a is bounded by a wall b having cooling-fins c. The part e may comprise a projection d on the piston, the retaining-nut of which is thus locked by the powder. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the application to the transmission of heat between two elements in general, and to the cylinder head shown, in which a space between the combustion chamber g and the cooling-water jacket h is filled with the metallic powder. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
