Abstract

412,820. Oil engines; cooling precombustion chambers. KRUPP AKT.- GES., F., Essen, Germany. Oct. 25, 1933, No. 29561. Convention date, Nov. 1, 1932. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (iii).] Air, forced by a fan through a casing 3 to impinge on cooling-ribs 2 on a cylinder 1, also cools a precombustion chamber body which is provided with fins 18, 20. The piston 7 has a trough-like depression 9 increasing in depth towards the precombustion chamber, which contains an ignition plug 23 for starting purposes, and is detachable from the cylinder wall to enable the precombustion chamber to be replaced by a sparking-plug or an injection nozzle. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes the steps necessary to convert the Diesel engine having a precombustion chamber into a low-compression engine working with a carburetter. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
