Abstract
392,843. Oil engines. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON., Winterthur, Switzerland. Nov. 28, 1932, No. 33640. Convention date, Dec. 24, 1931. [Class 7 (iii).] In a double-acting solid injection engine, the nozzles 14 at the crank shaft side of the engine are arranged in pockets 12, 13 in the cylinder cover ; the nozzles direct the jets towards hemi-spherical recesses in the piston and are arranged so that the burning fuel does not impinge on either the piston rod 9 or cylinder wall. The pockets 12, 13 have elongated mouths as shown in Fig. 2.
