Abstract

386,127. Cooling cylinders. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Jan. 21, 1932, No. 1907. Convention date, Jan. 27, 1931. [Class 7 (ii).] A streamlined fairing 4 is rigidly attached to, or integral with, a cylinder 1 and, either, has openings 5, 6, Fig. 2, for the passage of cooling air, or is closed, Fig. 5, and the spaces 8, 9 are filled with a good-conducting substance, e.g. ethylene glycol, glycerine, oil, or metal salts which become liquid at high temperatures ; internal baffles 7 and external fins 11 may be provided. As shown in Fig. 2, a part 3 of the fairing is integral with cooling fins 2 of the cylinder.
