[Class 7 (ii).] A beryllium - alloy cylinder head 2 is screwed and shrunk on a steel barrel 1 and surmounted by a light metal casting 4 containing the inlet and exhaust passages. The head 2 may be flat and contain four valve seats. Cooling ribs 5 may be machined on, or an aluminium ribbed jacket 6 may be cast round, the barrel 1.
