526,001. Cooling cylinders. SKODA WORKS, PLZEN. March 6, 1939, No. 7238. Convention date, March 12, 1938. [Class 7 (ii)] The cylinder head of a sleeve-valve engine is cooled by air which passes through aligned ports 3, 5 in the cylinder and head, arranged substantially out of the range of movement of the sleeve-valve 4. The air is directed into the head by a baffle 6<1>, but the direction of flow may be reversed ; alternatively, the flow may be across the head. Cooling ribs 2<1> may be provided on the head.
