[Class 7 (ii)] Transverse scavenging' through piston-controlled ports 12, 16 is provided in the part 2 of the cylinder traversed by the piston rod. In the working space 1 scavenging air enters through piston-controlled ports 7 and discharge occurs through a valve 6 in the cylinder head.
