Abstract

435,277. Valves. HILL, J. A., Lindow Lodge, Clarendon Road, St. Annes-on-Sea. March 27, 1934, No. 9516. [Class 135] A valve, more particularly for use as a drain valve for an engine crank-case, comprises a casing 1 in which is slidablymounted a plate 2 having an aperture adapted to register with openings in the top and bottom of the casing when the valve is opened, the plate 2 being pressed against a resilient washer 3 by a spring-pressed apertured disc 6 held in place by a screwed-in part 5 of the casing 1 so as to form a tight joint. The pressure on the disc 6 may be applied by a single coiled-spring 4, or a number of smaller coiled or leaf springs may be employed.
