435,199. Variable - speed gearing. RIPLEY, H. E., Prestbury Court, Prestbury, Gloucestershire. March 23, 1934, No. 9107. [Class 80 (ii)] Variable-speed gearing as described in Specification 350,378 is modified in that the lever hh which takes the torque reaction of the vehicle road wheels acts upon a prolongation bb<1> of the lever bb of Fig. 2 of the Specification referred to instead of through a spring system on the lever bb itself. The torque reaction thus acts against the spring system the springs ss of which must be made stronger in consequence. This lever bb acts through an adjustable roller ll and lever qq upon centrifugal weights controlling an epicyclic variable-speed train.
