Abstract

An iron alloy for an electric heating resistance contains 2-30 per cent of chromium, 2-6 per cent of aluminium, 2-20 per cent of silicon, and 0,1-30 per cent of cobalt, with or without 0,5-12 per cent of manganese and 1-8 per cent of vanadium or zirconium or of both together. Carbon may be present up to 0,5 per cent. In making the alloy, the constituents may be melted in an electric furnace under ordinary or reduced pressure, preferably in presence of inert gases. Specification 298,408, [Class 82 (i)], is referred to.
