Abstract

429,528. Seats. TYLER, I. C., 99, Lomond Grove, Camberwell, London. Feb. 14, 1934, No. 4874. [Class 52 (ii)] In seats of the type comprising a flexible element slung between front and rear anchorages, the front anchorage is attached to or constituted by a rigid member 7 which is of substantial depth from front to rear so as to provide the major part of the seat, and is so mounted that the seat is supported independently of the flexible element 6 and so that its upper surface is disposed substantially as a continuation of the supporting surface of the flexible element. A vehicle seat comprises a frame 3, a rigid curved seat member 7 mounted on a bar 10 which is pivotally supported on the front of the frame, and a flexible element 6 attached to the upper rear part of the frame and to the front edge of the member 7. A cushion member 13 of rubber formed with pockets on the under side is provided. Fig. 2 shows an arm-chair of like construction.
