Abstract
448,034. Seats. LAFFAN, W., 40, Little Cadogan Place, London. Nov. 26, 1934, No. 33975. [Class 52 (ii)] The plate 1 forming the rear and sides of the back is pivoted at 4 to lugs 5 attached to a foundation plate 6' beneath the seat ; the forward edge of this plate is hinged at 8 to the underframing 9, which is extended rearwardly by horns supporting compression links 11 pivoted at 10, 12 to the horns and the seatback. As the back 2 swings backwards it rises somewhat, the rear part of the seat 7 also rising. The parts are locked in adjusted position by a latch 17c passing through a trunnion block 16 and also through one of the perforations in a bar 17 pivoted to the rear edge of the seat back. This latch may be disengaged by a finger-piece 171 fitted a,s shown.
