Convention date, Jan. 27, 1933. [Class 35] Motors with unwound iron armatures.-In a single phase motor, the stator has imbricated polepieces on a pot-shaped member and a cover plate which enclose the single winding, there being shaded and unshaded polepieces on each stator member, and the unwound rotor has an untoothed part of good conductivity and a magnetic part with equispaced teeth. In the form shown, shaded and unshaded polepieces 42, 41 respectively are arranged alternately around the edge of the casing 2 which contains the wound core 1 and the other end of this core carries a plate 3 with shaded and unshaded polepieces 44, 43 interleaved with those of the casing edge and occupying the relative positions indicated in Fig. 4. The rotor comprises a flanged conducting disc 4, a ring of teeth 6 for synchronous operation and a magnetic ring 5. Specification 428,957 is referred to.
