Feb. 15, 1934, No. 5050. Convention date, Feb. 16, 1933. [Class 35.] The rotor teeth of a synchronous motor are magnetized by a common permanent magnet so that alternate teeth around the circumference have the same polarity, and the salient poles of the primary have teeth separated by twice the rotor tooth pitch. In the form shown, a permanent magnet m is located on the rotor shaft between rotor members h, i carrying imbricated teeth k, l, the tooth pitch on either member being the same as that of the teeth on the salient poles of the stator which surrounds the rotor and is shown with two poles each carrying a winding.
