Abstract
448,551. Alternating-current motors. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.- GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Dec. 31, 1935, No. 36070. Convention d.ate, Feb. 8. [Class 35] A synchronous motor has two sets of stator polepieces, each of which cooperates with a polarized rotor, the flux of the two sets being phase-displaced, the two stators, or the two motors or both being angularly displaced and the two rotors mechnnically coupled. In the form shown, the teeth at each end of the casing 18 are imbricated with those of the end plates 16, 17, and a phase displacement is obtained by a shading coil 13 or by capacity or reactance in parallel with one of the windings 11, 12. The teeth at the two ends and/or the two permanent magnet rotors 3, 4 are angularly displaced and the stator may be modified to permit the two parts to be angularly adjusted. Instead of being axially displaced, the two sets of teeth may be concentric and the rotors may be interconnected by gearing instead of direct coupling.
