Abstract
442,266. Alternating-current motors. ELECTRICAL RESEARCH PRODUCTS, Inc., 195, Broadway, New York, U.S.A. Aug. 7, 1935, No. 22248. Convention date, Aug. 8, 1934. [Class 35] Motors with unwound armatures.-A hysteresis motor has the stator wound for different pole numbers, the windings being disposed in the stator slots at different depths. In the form shown, the stator has a fourteen pole winding consisting of coils 7, 8 and a six pole winding 5, 6. As there are twenty-eight stator slots, the six pole winding is unsymmetrical. Condensers are connected in parallel with coils 5 and coils 7 to permit split-phase starting. The rotor comprises a ring of chromium steel or other magnetic material on a support surrounding the stator in bell fashion, the flux density being such that the permeability is the . maximum for the material selected.
