Abstract

428,460. Pile-fabric looms. HARVEY, I. F., Thornfield, Menston-in-Wharfdale, and HARVEY, E. T., 9, Lynton Villas, Toller Lane, Bradford, both in Yorkshire. Nov. 9, 1933, No. 31272. [Class 142 (ii)] Looped pile fabrics are produced by the aid of free-ended gut threads 6 which extend over the ground structure in the direction of the warp and form a temporary support for the pile loops 5 which pass over auxiliary picks 8. The gut threads are held at the rear of the loom by a clamp 7 and may be raised and lowered or held in horizontal position according to whether a single or double fabric is being produced or according to the number of shuttles or type of shuttle boxes employed.
