Abstract

275,703. Hunt, C. A., and Champion, S. S. May 5, 1926. Chenille.-In weaving cloth to be cut up into strips used as chenille wefts, wires are woven temporarily into the edges of the cloth to form selvage warps over which the weft passes. The wires c, c<1> in the form of steel tapes are attached at one end to the sides of heald frames A, A<1>, the other ends of the wires being free so that they are withdrawn from the fabric as the weaving proceeds. After the fabric is cut into strips, the selvage strips have fur or pile on each side and can be utilized just like the intermediate strips.
