Abstract

277,749. Shimwell, O. June 23, 1926. Selvedges, special, fabrics with. - In woven fabrics of the type wherein the weft threads are inserted in loop form from opposite sides, closed portions b of the loops alternating with the free or cut ends c of the wefts, the selvedges are so arranged that the free ends &c. are bound only by a portion of the warp threads and are not bound right to the sides or edges of the fabric, but project outwards from the face or faces thereof to facilitate cropping or cutting. Specification 233,009, [Class 142 (ii), Looms, Kinds &c.], is referred to. The manner in which the warp threads are shed is described.
