[Class 142 (iv)] In weaving patterned fabrics comprising face warp and weft threads a, band c, d respectively, chain warps g, h and backing wefts i, the face pick d of each group is inserted above all the chain warps so that it may float above the face warps that are not raised and be beaten up over preceding face pick c to conceal the chain warps. The Figure shows the fabric with a patterned pile surface superimposed thereon, the pile warps e, f and the face warps being controlled by one card and Jacquard mechanism having two griffe sections. Specifications 9898/98, [Class 142], and 176,647, [Class 142 (iv)], are referred to.
