Abstract
1,262,205. Pile fabric looms. WILSON & LONGBOTTOM Ltd. 14 Sept., 1970 [13 Sept., 1969], No. 45263/69. Heading D1E. In a vertical loom for weaving face-to-face pile fabrics for reed 4 is horizontal and acts as a race for four shuttles 1 or weft inserters and the fabrics 13, 14 are separated by a knife block 12 lying in a vertical plane with its longitudinal axis horizontal. Ground warp 2 is taken from two pairs of warp beams and pile warp 3 from two beams. Alternatively, the ground warp may be taken from two warp beams, and the pile warp from a creel. Shedding may be by heald frames 5, 6 acting in a horizontal plane, the frames being driven by cams, or a horizontally acting Jacquard may (5a) Fig. 1 (not shown) be used.
