Abstract

427,308. Anodic coating of aluminium and its alloys. WHITE, P. J., 56, Clifton Court, St. John's Wood, London. July 20, 1933, No. 20499. [Class 41] The electrolyte employed consists of an acid to which is added a glucoside or hydrolyzed glucoside. A suitable bath consists of 100 litres of sulphuric acid of specific gravity 1À220 to which is added 300 gms. of baptisin or 500 gms. of hydrolyzed barbaloin. Alternatively 500 gms. of tri-hydroxy-methylanthraquinone as obtained from the hydrolysis of frangulin may be added.
