Abstract

449,175. Electrolytic surface treatment of aluminium and its alloys. WHITE, P. J., 56, Clifton Court, London. Dec. 21, 1934, No. 36651. [Class 41] The metals are coated by anodic treatment in a bath consisting of a mineral or organic acid to which is added a crystalloid or crystallizable sugar such as glucose, saccharose or lactose. In an example the bath consists of sulphuric acid of specific gravity 1À2 with an addition of 50-100 gms. per litre of glucose. A lead or carbon cathode may be employed.
