Abstract

Aluminium alloys resistant to corrosion particularly by sea-water contain a small proportion of thorium, for example 0,1-6 per cent. The alloys may contain also any one or more of the following: up to 0,2 per cent of sodium, up to 3 per cent of manganese, up to 10 per cent of magnesium, up to 12 per cent of copper, up to 10 per cent of zinc, or up to 24 per cent of silicon.
