Abstract
427,278. Rotary internal-combustion engines. MEHTA, J. S., Wadia's Hill Bungalow, Kurla, Bombay, British India. July 20, 1934, No. 26547. Addition to 427,258. [Class 110 (ii)] The engine described in the parent Specification is provided with packing means comprising triangular shaped blocks 8 in grooves 7 at the ends of the rotor 1, and built up blades as shown in Fig. 5. Under centrifugal force the blocks are caused to press against the end cheeks of the casing. The sliding blades have an inner blade 3 and on each side of it, pieces 3<a>, 3<b>, 3<c>, pin p on the blade 3 being inserted into holes h in the pieces 3<c>. Upon rotation of the rotor 1 the pieces 3<a> force the pieces 3<b>, 3<c> against the casing for sealing purposes.
