Abstract

520,694. Rotary engines. LUSTIG, B., and LOEB, A. Oct. 27, 1938, No. 31037. [Class 110 (ii)] An internal-combustion engine of the gearedvane type has pistons 19, 20, of circular crosssection, fixed to discs 10, 9, respectively. The working chamber is formed by the discs, and a fixed central member 11. Packing rings 15, 16, 21, are provided on the relatively moving surfaces. Two sparking plugs 17, 18 are arranged between cooling jackets 11a. The two shafts 7, 8 are coupled by elliptical gears 20 ...27, but other means may be used to secure relative rotation of the shafts 7, 8. The engine may be modified to act as a steam engine, pump, or compressor.
