Abstract

419,869. Actuating pumps. RINGIUS, C. L., 3162, Sanabria Street, Buenos Aires. May 17, 1934, No. 14948. [Class 102 (i).] A pump rod 14 is reciprocated by a windmill and has attached to it a bucket 12 sliding in a cylinder 9 attached to a bucket 19 through which the rod 14 slides. When the rod 14 is reciprocated slowly, water passes through the inlet valve 3 to the cylinder 9 and is discharged through the ports 17, 23. When the speed of reciprocation increases, the water passing from cylinder 9 lifts the valve 21 and closes the ports 17 so that the bucket 19 is actuated and water is drawn through the inlet valve 3 and discharged through ports 18 in the bucket. The return stroke of the bucket 19 is effected through 'the spring 26. The stroke of the bucket 19 is limited by the screws 27. Restricted ports 30 may be provided in the valve 21 to prevent concussion.
