Abstract
417,484. Electric-lamp holders. TURNBULL, A. P., 61, Hunter Street, and ARCHER, P. G., Central Railway Station, both in Sydney, Australia. Oct. 16, 1933, No. 28586. Convention date, Nov. 3, 1932. [Class 39 (ii).] Lamp-holders of the bayonet type in which the contact pins are held rigidly in a spring- pressed moulding base, are provided with contact pins having sharp, preferably V- shaped, contacting surfaces. To enable the insulating base to move with the lamp when the lamp is rotated in the bayonet slot the flange 6 on the base 5, Fig. 1, is provided with slots 20 which engage projections in the wall of the holder and have enlargements 21 to allow a limited rotation when the base is pressed in by the lamp. In a modification shown in Fig. 2, a sleeve 24 slotted to receive the lamp pins is secured to the base 5 by indentations 30 and moves freely within the holder. When the lamp is rotated, the sleeve 24 rotates with it and prevents relative movement of the contacts 9 and the lamp contacts.
