Abstract
417,478. Steam superheaters. SUPERHEATER CO., Ltd., and MELHUISH, H., Bush House, Aldwych, London. July 17, 1933, No. 20182. [Class 123 (iii).] A smoke-tube superheater in a return-tube boiler with a centre and wing nests of smoketubes 5, 6, 7 has only two header chambers 1, 2, which are arranged opposite one or both of the spaces between the tube nests, the inlet or outlet ends 18 of the elements in a wing nest being extended across the front of the centre nest. The extended ends 19 of the wing elements may be formed separately from the elements and joined thereto by separable connections 21. The header chambers may be circular or triangular in cross-section, and may be arranged one in front of the other opposite a space between the tube nests.
